“We are seven people family including our parents. Elder sister is disabled as she produces meaningless sounds and walks improperly. We are five siblings in our family.”, says Bhuwaneshwori Rijal. According to him, there are two sons including he himself and three sisters including the two disabled sisters. Radha, the youngest sibling, is a normal sister of these two disabled members; accordingly, Srikrishna Rijal, the fourth sibling, is a normal brother of them. The first and the third are the disabled sisters out of the five siblings.
Having Nepal Government’s Full-Disability’s Certificate, Padam Kumari gets one thousand rupees per month, which is not sufficient to her rear-and-care, according to the family.
Monthly the two hundred allowance of Chit Kumari has also not been regular. With some assets and loan, though father went for their treatment, it was of no use; no progress has been reported even after the effort for the treatment, according to the family.
The family is habitual of keeping Padam Kumari, most of the time, on the direct floor as she keeps passing excreta on the bed. So, for eight out of twelve months in every year, she remains sick. Some organizations have helped Padam Kumari.
As the disabled sisters should be taken care by the very poor Rijal farmers, the family is facing the problem in treatment expenses, clothes and caring.
Though they followed some words from leaders for treatment after election, she was taken for voting; however, the family and the disabled sister Radam Kumari have got no sympathy from the leader, according to the family.
Despite the rumour of efforts from Government and Non-government organizations to such disabled people, no significant efforts have been seen on them.
