9th Annual day for elderly citizen

Basanti Maharjan, December 15, 2015 (Dcnepal) – Elderly Citizen Society of Kalanki complained that they were not been facilitated till now as the government has decided to provide them facilities. The government had said to serve them well and will provide them good facilities while giving the speech but they have not been yet fulfilled their saying in practise, they said.


Elederly citizen who were present in the 9th Annual day and 8th General Assembly said, the government had decide to distributed elderly allowance to dalit and backward classes people at the age of 60 and for other caste people after 70 years old which the elderly citizens said it was the discrimination of the government up on people. They also said this kind of discrimination should be ended soon and also appealed to stop the discrimination.


One of the elderly citizen present in the program said mostly elderly citizens suffer trouble from their own family members so the government should well organize and should facilitate problems for the elderly citizens such as good facility of transportation, to increase the allowance,  the short and fast way to shut out the problems legally. The other elderly citizen said the discounts for elderly citizens which are given inside the capital city also must be given outside the valleys too. He desired the entire elderly citizen from entire country should be provided good facilities and allowance.




Elderly citizen also complained that they have been in movement demanding to increase allowance Rs 3000 per month, must be 50 % off in local bus and private hospitals and also should declare the people over 60 years old as elderly citizen but still it not being passed. They were pressuring on their demands to be fulfilled as soon as possible as they are in very old age.
